ATTRACTIONS

Many attractions are within an hour’s drive from the cottage including :
 
  • Walking - A network of paths almost from the door and many beyond. For the more adventurous plenty Munros to bag in Glen Clova, Glen Doll, Glenshee and further afield. The 55mile long Cateran Trail starts in Blairgowrie and encompasses beautiful Strathardle, bonny Glenshee and Glen Isla. It can be walked from any point along the picturesque route.
  • Golf - There are 8 excellent courses, all within 30 minutes drive.
  • Fishing - Loch and river, permits available locally.
  • Cycling - a pleasure on quiet country roads.
  • Mountain Biking - many challenging mountain bike tracks within easy driving distance.
  • Highland Safaris - an easy way to access some of the most beautiful scenery in Perthshire by Land Rover. They are to be found at Aberfeldy.
  • White Water rafting on the River Tay.
  • Bungee Jumping for the fearless - from the Garry Bridge at Pitlochry.
  • Skiing and Snow Boarding – in Glenshee with 22 skilifts.
Or if you prefer sightseeing, you are spoilt for choice.
  • Glamis Castle - the childhood home of the late Queen Mother.
  • Scone Palace - the original site for the Stone of Destiny.
  • Blair Castle - home of the Clan Murray, a magnificent castle just off the A9 and also the venue for the famous Blair Castle Horse Trials every August.
  • The City of Dundee - hosts the Discovery, Captain Scott’s ship, the MacManus Gallery and Museum, Dundee Arts Centre and the Sensation Science Centre, always a sensation with children and adults alike.
  • Arbroath - for it’s famous smokies. Here you will see the actual smoking process, one of the last places to carry out this tradition.
  • Dunkeld - a beautiful village with Cathedral, many level walks, unique shops and galleries, coffee shops, smokehouse, delicatessen and lovely clothes shops for the ladies.
  • Pitlochry - a little bit of Victoriana, famous for it’s ‘Theatre in the Hills’ with it’s fabulous views and gardens. Also the Hydro Dam and fish ladder.
  • Bruar - an exhilarating walk up the Falls of Bruar and for retail therapy the House of Bruar, just don’t miss it. Everything you could want including the scenery!
